POEM STARTER

Feeling Known

Write a poem that could use this as its title or central theme.

You Are Here

To that cashier, to that barber, to that college student, and to the healed whom once was wounded.

Your money, your status, your popularity, even your classes doesn’t make your existence less conclusive.

The material things can change at any time but your spirit, your presence, YOU are more important than any shine or dime.

“You Are Here” and just because you aren’t prolifically publically praised doesn’t mean you’re any less worth the space and time.

There will be days that you are going to feel like you have nothing to give and there will be days when the world feels like it belongs to you.

Through the thick and thin, through the sun and snow, and through yes and no, you are alive and your presence will always belong to you.

What God has created is something from within that will never be outdated.

Rather you’re alone or with a village you can call your own, somewhere you have already left a positive impact that won’t be faded.

Even when it’s hard to see I promise you dear reader, someone out there really admires you, and your existence.

At times when it even feels like you only love you, you have planted seed inside of someone else’s mind from a distance.

So keep on existing and keep on breathing air.

Someday, somewhere, somehow, and in someway you, and your dreams will be there.
