POEM STARTER
Use the idea of something becoming polluted as a metaphor in your poem.
THE HEART OF THE MATTER
I sit there and watch as time goes by,
The city glows under a sunless sky,
We doomed ourselves when we asked why,
Industrialization will occupy,
Down below are the machines of god,
Constructing new while they corrade,
Molten steel into useful rod,
This robotic production isnt flawed,
A river cuts right through its heart,
Oozing slime from end to start,
If soulless was a work of art,
This walless prison would get the part,
I sit there and watch as the infection spreads,
Consumption tends to pull its own threads,
Many machines and empty heads,
To help keep overlords tucked into beds,
The people here don't come or go,
Their own perception is pretty slow,
Choking on the haze of faux,
They will listen if they don't know,
