STORY STARTER
Write a scene in which two characters have very different emotions about the same thing.
E.g. One character could be very happy after finding something out, whilst the other is sad about it.
Clarity.
Maxxine glances over my way. I take a deep inhalation of the salty air that surrounds us, within the cool atmosphere of the ocean breeze. Sand trails up the beach as the wind, turbines its way between each loose grain of sand.
“She was right you know” The words seemed to have slipped out from my throat.
“No shes not” Maxxine shares her opinion with me even despite knowing that im not in the mood to hear what she has to say anymore.
I take a step away from the picket fence that faces east to the horizon. Leaves crunch underneath me ;every step. Louder.
“You can’t just leave it as that! All of this discrimination cant be held against me just because i simply existed away from World countlerbott.”
My hands are waving in the air as one has a fiery moment to themselves.
“Look, you just need to get some sleep, you can’t just hold onto it this tight, you are going to end up down the rabbit hole;again.
Last time you went down that rabbit hold it just didn’t end well, you still cant remember the last 7 years properly, the birds are falling out of the sky and you know what happens once you find out about the rolly twins. You simply cannot go back to that state.”
Maxxines steps towards me but i wave her away and i find myself wandering over to the bubbler to take a sip.
Maxxine again, Follows.
“Max, i can’t i just cant what am i supposed to just do know? sit here? kick my legs like a child? Maybe crochet a somnet for my weary soul but no. I have to bear the depths of the heaviness that comes with this.” After i say this i hear a sigh from maxs mouth.
“You ca-“
I cut her off before she has the opportunity to continue.
“Please im trying to sip water here.” I say to Max as i continue my journey of sipping thee water.
Max comes closer and i feel each finger of her hand touching my upper back. Her hair falls over her face as her glasses reflect back my reflection. I stop drinking.
