Life Without You
Write a poem or short story about what life would be like without the person you care about the most.
The Warmth Of Equally Returned Love
My life without you
Began while you were still next to me
In my arms
While you still held my heart
And I grieved my life with you
Before you had gone
When the soft light faded
I loved harder
Trying to grasp you
Hold you close once more
You pushed harder
Away from me
You repeated the words I longed to hear
“I love you”
Lies
Love does not raise its hands
It’s voice
It’s walls
Love is not cold
Or maybe yours is
Oh how I crave it
I told you I can put on another jacket
So long as you held me
in your blizzard of indifference
I lowered my walls as you
You built yours higher with my discarded bricks
You set traps around your heart and I
Bleeding in the snow you cast
Crawled desperately onwards, inwards, towards the beating
Was that your heart? Or did I have it coming
Oh how I longed for the warmth of your love
Yet buried myself in the snow around you
Until
You froze a part of my heart
And I knew
My life without you-
Is.
