Getaway
Your hold on me is inescapable
A ribcage from the outside in
Pinning me to your chest
Like the honorary badge you wear so proudly
I thought I would feel safe here
Like some stockholm syndrome
But you’re choking me
While claiming to give breath
Your limbs are like oak trees
As we ride through the city
It’s nighttime, our shades on
Masks to hide your smile
You got the windows tinted
Like a statement
As we roar up to the scene
Of a house that leans
Off the hill with the mean view
Someone’s looting every room
We play getaway car
As they hop in the boot
I hate loving you
But I love your money
I don’t feel physically safe
But I got financial security
Until the boys in blue pull up
