Changing Colors
The wind starts blowing and the leaves turn red
The color of the anger you have towards me
Summer light pulls the green from every tree
Leaves start falling like the tears we shed
Light blue skies turn dark emitting dread
We no longer feel free
Happiness falters with the absence of the yellow bee
We’re only hanging on by a thread
But threads are used to weave beige sweaters
Warmth comes from an unlikely wink
Transparent blood cleanses the Earth
Memories are erased as we write new love letters
The cold flushes our cheeks with pink
These changing colors helped us rebirth
