POEM STARTER

Write an ode to an extinct animal, without ever saying the animal’s name - this rule also applies to the title.

Magnificent Beasts

I wonder if Cleopatra ever looked upon you, you magnificent beasts. So large and so free with the wind blowing through your fur. You’ve left scientists with hope of resurrecting your kind, your footsteps so large they’ve left prints throughout time.

Your descendants so smart, so gentle, so kind I wonder if you were too. Hunted to extinction you magnificent beasts.
