WRITING OBSTACLE

Create a narrative surrounding a single emotion, using bumper cars as the central metaphor.
Let the impact of the collisions, motions, and thrills guide your prose or poetry.
Hearts Bump
I immediately think of Honeymoon Avenue by Ms. Grande herself. A little different but same concept. Why bumper cars? Everyone has the feeling of wanting to live wildly and bumper cars are that outlet, like smashing glass. It lets out aggression we can’t use on the day to day, but through a “fun” and “safe” environment.
Our hearts are pounding, crashing, and thumping everyday. Aggression lives there because hurt resided there first, and we take it out on others, just bumping into each other not caring who we scar. It started as a sense of freedom, a fun game for kids, but for adults it’s all what’s left unsaid—what can never escape our hearts, so we just continue bumping.
