WRITING OBSTACLE

If there was an 8th deadly sin, what would it be?

Write a descriptive paragraph about this sin.

Resentment

**The sin of the unforgiving heart.**

Oh, how could they?

_How could they?!_

But they did.__

So embrace it.

The feeling —that sinking in your heart. As it darkens. With the weight of their betrayal. As it takes over. Your entire being is filled to the brim.

Overflowing with anger and hatred. Spilling out of a worn cup. Bleeding through the cracks. Seeping through the soul.

You'll never forgive them.

No.

Even as you lie in your grave.

Hold onto it. Embrace it. The hate. Their betrayal.

Keep it, hold it in, and grow with it silently as it takes control of your heart, your body, your mind, and your soul.

And you remember it oh so clearly.

The beach is usually for relaxing. For peace.

But then.

It's like a bucket of water being splashed in your face. Surprise you are, soaked to the bone in your own pity.

Remember it.

Drown in it, until it becomes you.

This…

**Resentment.**

So bitter.

So **unforgivable.**

It grows, and grows. Poisoning your brain. Frustration, Disappointment, and Anger.

Bottling up until it collapses.

After all… how could they?

You smile. They smile. But deep down you know. They know…

You’ll never forgive them for what happened years ago.

Sweet **resentment.**
