Write from the perspective of a family puppy adapting to a newborn baby coming home for the first time.

The New Family Member

I raced down the stairs as I heard the front door open. I had been waiting nearly two days for them to come back home. They walked inside with something unrecognizable in their hands. It was…a carseat? I walked closer to them and examined it. What was in it?

They crouched down with the carseat infront of them.

“Max, this is the new member of the family. Her name is Lilly.”

I started sniffing around the carseat and looked at the newborn baby. She was tiny and cute and she had the smell of a lilly. Maybe that’s why they named her that. Her hair was already growing. It was a light shade of blonde. Almost unique for a human.

I am the only dog in the house and now I have a baby to watch over, it will be different than my normal activities, but I don’t mind it at all. I already feel connected to her anyways, like she is my own. I layed my head in her lap and put my paw on her arm. I knew that we were going to be bonded for a very long time.
