POEM STARTER
Write a poem that is grotesquely romantic.
This could mean a poem that’s overly lovey-dovey, one that has a romantic theme but grotesque imagery, or something else altogether.
Bloody Love
Red rivers flow like the Thames, hearts shatter like glass.
Love burns like a funeral pyre, the dead’s sleep awoken by unending desire.
Clawed figures glide across a chest with cursed lust.
The beings below stare with envy knowing that their long forgotten love shall never return.
Cursed to remain lost, crumbling ruins as the backdrop of the wretched massacred of cursed passion as innocent love.
As two blackened souls dance and entwine, their forsaken love giving rise to beings of rot long forgotten.
Death sings as a chorus bringing their grotesque dance of love to its final conclusion.
As oak and silver enclose the bodies of the cursed lovers.
As their crimson eyes fall closed once more.
