Moonlight and Moonshine
In the hush of night where shadows creep,
Moonlight spills in silver sweep.
It kisses trees and quiet streams,
A poet’s balm, the food of dreams.
Soft and pure, it soothes the skies,
A silent truth that never lies.
But deeper in the woods’ embrace,
Moonshine hides with outlaw grace.
No tender glow or silver gleam—
It burns like fire in a rebel’s dream.
In copper stills and whispered pacts,
It dances wild behind the facts.
Moonlight guides the lover’s gaze,
A gentle muse in softened haze.
Moonshine lights a reckless fire,
A hidden flame of raw desire.
One beams from high with hallowed face,
The other runs a wilder race.
One sings of stars, of peace, of night—
The other roars, unchecked delight.
So raise a glass beneath the moon,
Let both their songs compose your tune.
The light that soothes, the fire that bites—
Twin spirits born of different nights.
