Onslaught

Dravina woke with a start. Her entire body ached. She felt the cloth tied over her mouth, the shackles that pinned her down onto the bumpy and uncomfortable wall, and especially the sense of dread that spread across her body like a virus, making her tremble. As her vision refocused, she analysed her surroundings.

The cave was a freezing wasteland of endless rocky formations, reaching jagged tentacles of sharp stone, that reached up to the sky, hoping for another world, only to be stopped by the cave ceiling. The ceiling had slender spikes that drooped down almost innocently, as if to mask the damage they could cause. The cavern was like the jaws of death itself.

Dravina shivered. The cave was freezing, as cold as corpses long dead.

A figure stepped into into view, emerging from behind a rock claw that poked from the ground. It was terribly ugly with long ears that stuck out like sore thumbs. It’s skin was green, wrinkly and rotten and it’s yellow eyes Dravena’s with a cold stare. She remembered now. The last thing she could remember was a blunt weapon (maybe a bat) flying towards her face.

Really, she wanted the hideous goblin to step out. She had been planning an ambush. Clearly her captors didn’t know what she was capable of.

She felt power rushing through her body from toe to crown, dark godly mysterious power. It surged through her veins and rattled through her bones. Her eyes turned black.

She shot forwards, breaking free from the shackles. Pure strength carrying her, she sped at the speed of a hurtling cannonball. The goblin watched in horror as pure darkness shot from her palm, to form a huge flexing hand made out of the night sky itself. The hand was brought over the goblin’s face and he let out one final shriek as the hand closed with a crunch, crushing its head instantly. Blood erupted pattering onto the cave floor the shriek of the goblin echoed through the cavernous terrain, and before long, a horde of startled gremlins arrived to find out what it caused the disturbance. They noticed their leaders carcass, looked up at Dravina, and charged.

Drive a new that they were no match for her. She blasted towards the throng of angry goblins and began the onslaught. The hand zoomed head straight through the group, impaling five of them on its potent fingers, sparing the unsuspecting creatures like the prongs of a trident. The hand clenched into a fist, and smashed down upon a bunch of them spraying blood and crushing their weak frames. It sliced menacingly through a few, sending innards flying everywhere as they were cut cleanly in half.

The remaining goblins were pushed against the cave wall by the monstrous hand. The bones slowly crunched and they screamed out in futile despair as they were slowly and agonisingly squashed.

The hand now dripping with blood and goblin parts shrunk back into Dravina‘s palm. What remained of the unfortunate goblins was a gory scene of mangled gremlin corpses scattered across the cave. Various goblin body parts lay around recklessly ,their heaped and disorganised organs still fresh. Blood had been sprayed across the wall, and now it coated it’s rocky surface like a gruesome red painting that told the tale of the slaughtered goblins.

Dravina sighed, showing no remorse for the lives she had just ended. She hadn’t meant to go that overkill, she thought, as she began her journey over the treacherous terrain.
