In My Spot
I stood tall
The first ten years.
I kept growing
Hoping for peers.
No one else grew
I’m just through.
I’ve been alone
This is my home.
Same spot,
Same place,
Such a tiny space.
I have been here for
200 years.
No other trees,
No other breeze.
I am stuck
In my spot.
