Your story should explain how this expression came to be, and why it means what it does.
Curiosity Killed The Cat
Once a cat, small and speckled black and white, entered her barn she was meant to keep clean of mice.
She roamed the stalls where the horses neighed and jumped upon beams, so high, she could see all the livestock.
Sometimes, when she tired, sheβd sleep on the soft hay and dream of catching mice and birds.
One day, when the sun rose, the cat awoke, yawning and stretching. She walked lazily around the farm, watching for any signs of mice. She suddenly heard a small cry coming from behind the farm in the distant woods.
Curious and bored, the cat wandered far beyond where she belonged. Following the cries, she walked through the forest, curious of what could be making such a strange sound.
The owner of the cries pounced upon her, its claws digging beneath her skin. The coyote snapped at her with his jaws.
Curiousity killed the cat.
