She had long skinny fingers, a delicate hand some would say. Rings on every finger, except for the left hand ring finger. Once soft and smooth now wrinkling with every passing day, her hands were her most valuable asset.

Some days when she sat alone, she would remove one ring and place it on the left ring finger. She quickly removed it. Feeling unnatural, weird and out of place. She decided that finger will never wear a ring. It will forever be alone with just the fine hair on the knuckles to keep it company. It will never feel the warmth and heaviness of metal.
