Criminal Dignities
The cultists gaped, mouths forming a steady ‘_o_’.
Their eyes shifted to a mysterious figure in the back, as if asking ‘Where do we go next?’
After the surprise wore off, one of the black cloacked figures warily approached me.
“Ma’am, would you mind giving us a moment to discuss amongst ourselves?” A bloated silence encompassed the air-tight room as they awaited my response.
“Alright, but I request you be expeditious, due to the fact we are running out of time.”
At that, the men took a quick glance towards the clock behind me, coming a abrupt realization.
The tension shattered as one of the men slammed his hands onto the table seperating us.
“Screw the formalities, Night Widow, we never anticipated that you would actually complete this task, so we do not have the reward you requested.”
The entire room visibly tensed up at this wave of information. Others quickly chimed in to soften the blow, but it only inflated my rageful spirit, building upon this **unhelpful confession**.
“Ma’am we deeply apologiz-
“I do not want to hear another sorrowful message, till my reward is delivered! I brutally yelled towards them,“Your little cult has approximately 96 hours to bring me the money before my people come to hunt you down.” A volatile silence ensued before the men then broke into a stress-filled frenzy. Many questions with no clear answers, vengeful appetites and nothing to please. For the first time this meeting, a man in red cloak angerly approached me, the one who happened to be sitting in the corner.
“Do you realize how insane you sound women? How do you expect us inquire 50 million in the small time frame you provided us?”
The others loudly chanted their support, paying no mind to the ever ticking clock. 1 minute and 38 seconds remained till our meeting room blew to shreads, encompassing everyone inside. Such small minded folks.
I confidently walked over to the red-hooded figure, paying no mind to the others.
“You cultists have a lot of nerve to come here, meet _the_ Black Widow, and not have a prize for her. If you hadn’t registered this by now, I will not be changing my opinion on the matter. I deserve that 50 million for what I provided you with. Whether you like it or not, I am the deadliest assassin you will ever meet. I _am_ getting that money, no matter the cost.”
They all stood there, stunned by the little speech they had witnessed. The red-hooded figure finally sized me up, the others taking his lead. 48 seconds. With a defeated look on his face, the man looked me dead in the eye and stated- “My people only have about _1/5_ of what you are asking Widow. We will do what we can considering the circumstances, but we cannot promise you 50 million in 96 hours. We understand the punishment if we don’t comply.” He then quickly looked away, and signaled his people to swiftly exit the building. I didn’t have much time to think on his words, after I realized I’ve got 20 seconds to leave the premise. I efficiently gathered my belongings and calmly left the structure without another glance back.
