A few years ago shouldnt have happened, but i‘m so grateful but feel so bitter. My sibling had an accident that rocked my family, and suddenly my family began to tear. And in the same year, I learned many things. Mostly for the worse. My grandma died that same year, and many times I had to hold my mother as she wept. Finally three years later, my mother and I were walking on a road before my piano lessons began. We were too early, for once anyways. We talked, laughed, but then we raised a question. Why did everything feel so sad? Like, nothing bad was happening currenly. No one was dying, hurt, so what was it? My mother was silent for a long time until she spoke up again. “ I think we’ve been in flight or fight mode for so long our bodies now seeing our chances at relaxation this summer doesnt feel right.” Of course. To finally be at a level of normality was unreal. So much so, our own brains couldnt fathom ‘normal’ and moved to a feeling with strong emotion to keep us at bay. So, my fellow readers, i’m sad today. Tomorrow too, and someday I wont be.
