POEM STARTER

Write a poem comparing a house and a home.
Home Is With People You Love
Empty
Everything made to perfection
You sit down in a chair
But it was just for looks
Other then a mother making the food
The kitchen is full of cooks
The tile is so clean you could eat off it
It’s so pretty, yet in your soul is a pit
It feels like a premade kit
Just a place to sleep and that’s it
You feel like mouse
This is a house
It feels so cold
This is not a home
Home isn’t about fancy things
A home is about new beginnings
It’s about the people that bring joyful cries
Even if it’s the ground you must lie
It’s the people that make it cozy
A home is where the happy people mosey
Though sometimes sadness might stir
It’s a place where even the hard times occur
Its a place to show your scars
Even if it’s just in a tent out in the stars
It’s a place where the family returns
Home is who you select
It’s home, where you connect
Even if it’s a bus that you choose
Take your home wherever you want to peruse
Home doesn’t have to be a place full of jewels
By the people that rid of your blues
Home can be in the trash
As long as that’s where they make you laugh
It’s with the people that you choose to roam
That’s a home
