The screams echo across the expanse of the valley as thundering sounds of water near.

We need to move _now_.

From behind, I see the cascading waves of rushing water heading straight for the village. We’ve got mere minutes to evacuate the village before everyone is pulled by the strength of the rushing water.

“To the high ground!” I shout, pulling families from their houses.

Others help children and the elderly, but some simply stand back, watching the catastrophe unfold.

“We don’t have much time to watch, we can only move! _Now get going!_” I shout, but the effect does not hit everyone.

Some people cling to their belongings, refusing to move.

“I cannot leave my home,” a man says, holding his children near him.

“My precious jewelry is much too important!” Another woman says from behind.

“Those are of no importance compared to your lives. You’ll be washed away with no chance of survival,” I explain. I look to the man. “Your children deserve to live. There will be efforts to help you all, now let’s _go_!”

The woman refuses, shutting her door with a slam.

The man quickly grabs his children and sets off towards the high ground, but he looks back at me, motioning towards the women.

I shake my head as I hear the roaring water nearing. “Words are wasted on those who do not listen.”

I sprint with the others the high ground, helping others as I see the raging water filling the valley, clearing the village as if it were made of paper.
