STORY STARTER
The house at the end of the street has been boarded up for as long as your protagonist can remember. Today, they decide to explore.
The Shadows
“Damn it, Ari. You can’t go in that old house.” Jonah’s voice cut through the October air, breaking up my racing thoughts.
“Something is in there. I can feel it” My skin prickled with goosebumps as I spoke my thoughts out loud. I could feel the cool, misty touch of the shadows caressing my skin creating a sense of longing to delve deeper into its embrace.
Finally I let my body move, allowing the darkness to pull me closer.
“Ari, no! You can’t do this. You know the stories! Nobody who goes in ever comes out. Please don’t do this Ari.”Jonah’s pleading was it going to stop my movement towards the house.
Jonah was right. The dangers behind the front door was unknown, but the darkness was dragging me in.
The house wasn’t scary to me. It was enchanting. The prickling of my skin created excitement in my eyes. I am craving the darkness to swallow me whole.
“I am sorry Jonah. You can’t stop me now.” The corners of my lips curve into a smile as I step closer to the old home.
As I am reaching for the door knob the door opens in front of me. Echos of souls drift through the fridged air around me. I feel the shadows wrapping around me as I step into the home.
It was in that moment I knew the shadows were going to swallow me whole and in that moment I felt true peace.
