POEM STARTER

Submitted by Robin Marlowe

Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.

A Sunny Night In Paris

Snow is falling in the Sahara

and the Arizona cacti are jealous

because they’ve never seen a rain drop

but it’s a sunny night in Paris

Yet, it’s all the same

as any other weekday

There’s a drought in the Atlantic

and the fish all want to panic

but if you look hard enough

you can see the top of the Titanic

Yet, it’s all the same

as any other weekday

Snow is falling in the Sahara

while it’s freezing in a South American July

and if asked the reason

I could never answer why

Yet, it’s all the same

as any other weekday

A thunder storm is up at the North Pole

While the Polar bears are humming

A Coca Cola tune while Santa is hunting

The first of many white furred raccoons

Yet, it’s all the same

as any other weekday
