POEM STARTER
If wishes fell like rain, then certainly I am a storm.
Write a poem with this as the opening or closing line.
Wishes Amount to Nothing
If wishes fell like rain, then certainly I am a storm.
I carry the world in my mind.
Every wish, every thought,
everything I carry with me swirling in a maddening chaos
I wish to be a poet,
a writer,
philosopher,
teacher,
an inspiration.
I wish to be accomplished in anything i do.
One of the greats.
These wants, this pressure
build in my mind, in my chest.
A churning, suffocating storm
that paralyzes.
Sweeps me up
overwhelming me.
All my wishes will amount to nothing.
Because I am too afraid
too much of a coward.
To risk the disappointment of becoming
A failure.
