Use this as a metaphor in a story or poem
Dull Ore.
There once was a miner who had a shock
When he found raw diamonds in the rock.
He chiselled to reveal some more,
When there was a sudden roar!
The lovely row of gems clamped on his hand,
It was a teething troll whose teeth slammed.
Small though the troll was,
It didn’t like being woken without cause.
A few dull bites that just barely broke skin,
The troll burrowed back as though the rock were paper thin.
The terrified miner dropped his tools and ran south,
He never dug again and everything reminded him of that mouth…
