In Whispered Halls…
Demetrius looked across the throne room towards the one that was called the ‘saviour’, the ‘promised one’, the ‘ruin’ some may say including himself only a month ago when he met her. The human, some had mocked.
That word disgusted him, made his thoughts turn slightly sour just for a moment before the human turned and looked at him, and he thought he saw a ghost of a smile danced on her lips. A smile for a just a second, only for him, only for his amusement.
A smile that he secretly wanted to kiss. He shook his head as she resumed her gaze towards the throne as the King droned on and on about the trials. These darn trials, were supposed to be a way of an old custom, something to keep those that venture in these walls locked inside.
Demetrius shook his head as he could feel Willow gazing at him once more.
“You have something to add, Lord Demetrius?” The King snapped at him, his tone showing clear signs of his frustration in his voice, tone and manners.
“Will the human be prepared for what awaits her?” Demetrius shot back at him as the he could feel Willow’s gaze burn into his skin. The King gripped the edges of his golden throne as the tension in the room grew colder by the minute.
Demetrius met her gaze and felt a familiar twinge stir long dormant inside of him. Feelings, they had called it, feelings were often tricky when one of them is not entirely human.
“Would you take her place?” The King answering his question with underlying malice in his voice.
“Only if she wished.” Was the answer that came tumbling out his mouth as he turned towards Willow with his hand on his chest as he bowed slightly towards the human girl.
