Silence is loud. Silence is all the thoughts you wish you could quiet. It’s all the feelings you wish you had the words to say. Silence is lonely. When you’re surrounded by silence it’s only you. There are no people around nor animals and insects creeping about. There’s no water rushing down from a stream or dripping from a faucet. There’s no wind howling and rustling trees, nor an AC churning and cooling your skin. There is no music playing to quiet your thoughts. In silence you only hear your breath, maybe moving in time with your heart beat. Silence can be lonely and empty. Though you can fill it at any moment, with someone or something. No one knows what true silence is, because they’re not here to tell us about it.
