you knew how to become your own best friend,

never again would you feel lonely.

Someone who’d take your heart break and let it mend.

if only you we’re never alone,

then you’d never be without a home.

"Home,” that seems to have a foreign dialect

if only home did in-prison you along with abuse and neglect

If only I could stip neglect of it’s power,

and disarm abuse if just for one hour

I’d be an unstoppable force one that can’t be recon

if only my soul wasn’t a like a flare an abuser’s becon

If only my heart wasn’t oh so soften,

I don’t think I’d get hurt, or not nearly so often

My heart I would never ever again have to mend,

and never again would I fear the word lonely,

If only I became my own best friend…
