If only the coin landed tails,

I would have a new career,

A life led by a different trail,

Maybe I’d be able to hear?

The butterfly flaps its wings,

The tsunami of my life,

I would have such different friends,

I would have a different wife.

Would I have two little girls?

I can’t imagine life without.

Or would I have sons with little curls?

Would I still have Gout?

Would I work with words, not numbers?

Would I be rich or be poor?

Would I be smarter or be dumber?

Would I be wanting more?

Or would the train track I’d be on,

Converge towards my fate?

Was this destined all along?

A path I can’t escape?

Would I be with someone new?

Or would I just be lonely?

Thankful I’ll see this life through,

But still wonder, if only.
