POEM STARTER

Submitted by Space Cadetter

Write an ode to an extinct animal, without ever saying the animal’s name - this rule also applies to the title.

The Blip

Formed from the ashes and dust of stars mating in a distant space, you came to be in your own time, in your own way, and you danced your dance and acted out your scene in the play. And as I look at what still exists today, I know none of it would be the same without your face, without your hands being laid. And it’s beautiful and it’s tragic in oh so many ways. How I’m grateful that you came, grateful that you stayed, but more than it causes joy, I think it causes pain, to feel that I am grateful for the time of your decay.
