POEM STARTER
Submitted by Robin Marlowe
Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.
In My World of Contradictions
Can summer ever be summer, without the sun's shine?
Can winter ever be winter, without the bitter cold?
In my world of contradictions,
two opposites can co-exist upon the very same sky.
A little bit of sun, a little bit of rain.
A little bit of cold, a little bit of heat.
A little bit of joy, a little bit of sorrow.
In my world of contradictions.
Can summer ever be summer without the sun's shine?
Can winter ever be winter without the bitter cold?
In my world of contradictions,
two opposites can co-exist upon the very same sky.
A whisk of wind, a gust of wind.
A foggy night, a sky as clear as night
A dusty path, a mud-filled way.
In my world of contradictions.
Seasons don't always appear as they should.
In my world of contradictions.
