STORY STARTER
A fairytale character is dropped into this world.
How do they react? What do they find most difficult?
Pinocchio
Pinocchio’s limbs clatter together as he free falls through the tree branches. He lands with a short grunt, rubbing at his wooden arms and legs.
But, to his surprise, his limbs weren’t wooden after all. Well, they were. But they didn’t look wooden. They looked… normal.
He jumps up in excitement, growing antsy at his new profound limbs. He only wanted to become a real boy—earn humanity through growth and honesty. While it looked real, he knew it was fake. And one can only put up a fake facade for so long.
So, with this new objective in head, Pinocchio begins to navigate his way around this strange world. He grows natural to the acustoms, getting used to the daily life whilst still missing the company of Geppeto.
Except, one thing Pinocchio cannot seem to grasp is… society.
Of course, Pinocchio’s nose grows longer when he lies more often. He has tried to rid of this habit but a habit is a habit for a reason. It is hard to break cycle; even more harder in this weird, new world to him.
People point and laugh amongst the streets at his abnormally large nose. Pinocchio tips his head down in shame, covering his slightly long nose with his hand. “Everyone lies everyday here, why are mine such an issue?” He mumbles to himself, feeling his wooden limbs make a show.
So, out of fear of turning back into a puppet, Pinocchio vowed to himself to never lie a day in his life again. He made it his goal every waking morning—still getting used to the works.
Over time, his nose grew shorter and shorter and he could feel his arms and legs loosening up everyday. Morning after morning, he’d wake with a gigantic smile upon his lips, gracing his face with a glow.
Until, he began to notice things.
While Pinocchio was learning to better himself to get what he always wanted, he could see through everyone else’s fake facade.
To him, everyone had a nose longer than his had ever gotten. Some dragged upon the ground. Some humanoid bodies were just pure wood. But, they acted as if everything was normal.
It was only then, the realization dawned at him what type of world he had really fallen into.
