Lightning flashed across the sky over the corn field where Jordan was currently running for his life. Arms outstretched before him to block the corn leaves, he imagined himself looking a little like Frankenstein’s monster and giggled. It had been a long night, and now he was tired from trying to keep up with these damn kids.

Every Halloween troublemaker teens snuck into the closed corn maze where Jordan liked to ‘work’. They’d vandalize the place or hook up with each other as part of some Halloween prank.

Jordan had easily disposed of the first two teenagers he found canoodling in the barn using a pitchfork and scythe. Then he hacked up the next kid with an axe after playing a bit of cat and mouse, terrorizing her through the pumpkin patch. This last kid had been harder because he’d wretched the axe out of Jordan’s hands and was now pursuing _him_ through the corn maze.

Lightning flashed again, and Jordan saw the outline of the pit trap he’d dug and jumped over it. Then he waited until he heard the scream of the teen falling in and circled back to finish the job.
