Unnamed Specimen
Dylan Harper
- Specimen Status: Unconscious
- Specimen Description:
Approximately 6 inches in diameter---estimate by researcher. Deep red in color, dark spots across the top. Slimy, appears to be of structure similar to a blobfish. Red color may signify poison---may not be safe to touch. Small eyes, two. No visible mouth or nostrils. No visible limbs or genitalia---gender of specimen unknown. Unsure whether specimen does bodily functions---no recognizable way to excrete feces.
- Experiment Description:
The researcher will attempt to wake the specimen, and examine vitals. Tests will include: blood draw, blood pressure, heart rate. Once complete, the specimen will be sedated again---smaller dose.
- Experiment Notes:
The researcher has successfully woken the specimen. It makes minimal movement---possibly due to gelatinous build? Just slow blinking.
When checking heart rate, no recognizable pulse. It's possible the specimen has no heart, or has heart beat slow enough or small enough to be undetectable. Further research required.
Needle inserted in side of specimen for blood draw---unknown whether the needle is hitting veins. When attempting to draw blood, no fluid comes out, blood or otherwise. Possible hypothesis---specimen is one solid form, no organs or veins, since heart rate was undetected and no retrievable fluids.
Soon after removing the needle from the specimen, a large swell appeared surrounding the point of entry. The specimen is capable of reactions---how the reaction happened is unclarified. Further research required.
While retrieving equipment for blood pressure test, specimen grew about twice the size. The specimen is now too large for its original containment. The specimen is moved to a larger surface, the countertop in the center of the lab.
Update on size: is now at least four times the size the specimen was originally. Mouth now visible---stretches across half of body. Possible hypothesis---the specimen's defense system involves devouring its predators.
Update: the specimen has begun to open its mouth revealing large teeth and
