WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a fast-paced scene that takes place during a rush hour.
There doesn't need to be a dramatic plot, but think about how you can create and maintain a busy and rushed feeling in a short story.
The Concrete Jungles Breathe
As far as I can see cars stretch for miles and miles
just like the rolling tides in the ocean.
The people are like ants on the jungle floor scurrying around.
The city is filled with laughter, grief, and anger it is almost
as loud as Niagra Falls.
As I observe I run my hand on the beautiful smooth marble
used on the buildings.
The air thick and smoggy to breathe.
Its suffocating like a thick rope of expectations
trying to hold me back from being my self.
The city is full of that you know.
Expectations.
It's like most people are afraid of people who are different.
Walking around I'm surrounded by all of these wild yet beautiful
smell.
The city's smell is so distinct and familiar
Almost like home.
I see a man.
He has furrowed eye brows, clenched teeth, and a flushed face.
He wearing a slick black suit.
Yelling into his phone like it was a screaming competition.
The jungle I think instantly.
The city and jungle are just the same.
Except the city is made of concrete
