POEM STARTER
A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.
Use this quote from the poet William Blake in a poem with a defined structure. As this is a rhyming couplet, your stanza format should follow however you use the quote.
True Friends
Among such friends with feathers fair
Words mean little and ring untrue
But in close company one must ere
A knife bleeds not what a cutting word can do
For when such a friend turns fowl
Cherished memories blind
the wolves come out to howl
And teeth sink in from behind
Words of caution must be given as charity
For the truest friends will give honest reply
With intent of growth and prosperity
And where none will do will lie
A truth that’s told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.
