Did You Love Me Back?
When I look in your eyes, I can see the moon.
I know we’ll be together soon.
For our love is like a rose in bloom.
We fit together like two peas in a pod.
You had my heart the minute I saw you.
I knew our love would be true.
There was nothing I could do.
I could only sit and pray to God.
Never leave me.
Always be.
And let me see.
Show me a sign like a gentle nod.
Please love me in return.
My love for you forever burns.
And the world it turns and turns.
Perhaps you need a gentle prod.
Or perhaps I was wrong.
You’re gone.
I lose my song.
And I’m left still wondering if there is a God.
