POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a misunderstanding.

Whether funny or tense, see how you can incorporate both sides of the experience into your poem.

Stranded

The moon took the night,

But was promised the day.

The sun wished for this sight,

And the darkness would never play.

You can’t dream during the day,

That’s what she forbode.

But to write this ode,

I must shape it this way.

The sun took the dawn,

But was promised the dusk.

Waiting for the moon to spawn,

And goring it with day’s tusk.

Days are for the dreams that stay,

And the night for the ones who stray.

Nightmares come and go,

But dream drive us through.
