POEM STARTER
Compose a poem that starts with an idiom.
Idioms are common, sometimes metaphorical sayings such as ‘it’s raining cats and dogs’, and ‘love at first sight’. Which idiom will you use to set the theme for your poem?
The World
Actions speak louder than words
Like when I broke the world into thirds
The same world that thought I was broken
Little did they know that words are my golden token
I wanted to be seen, to be known
They asked my to stop, but the seeds were already sown
As I ate away at the world, hate ate away my soul
I could have stopped there, but peace was my goal
I built the world, better than before
And now I know this is not some folklore
I just wanted to be seen, to be known
By doing that I rebuilt the world
