As I stare in the mirror

The reflection looking back at me

Filled with disgust.

The glass, so clear

Revealing the worst parts of me.

I stare at my body

Wishing I could take the scissors and eliminate

The apron belly staring back at me

No matter how many jewels I cover my body in,

I’ll never be able to put an end to the endless suffering.

I starve myself for weeks

Only just to eat like a caveman deprived of nutrients.

I need to look smaller

Maybe that’ll make my father love me more.

As I stare back at myself in the mirror,

The nausea filling the pit of my stomach

The bile rising faster than I can swallow.

I realized that I created a monster.
