POEM STARTER
‘Bees offer honey far more readily than they sting.’
Write a poem that begins with this line. What themes can this metaphor reflect?
fight to live
bees offer honey far more readily than they sting.
A bee doesn’t live to sting, rather sting to live. Or more importantly, live to pollinate.
I don’t live to fight I fight to live. You didn’t have to leave me with that choice to sting. I didn’t live to hate you, rather I live to leave an indelible mark on your heart. to change you, better you, to let you thrive. You took it the wrong way, and left me to sting. if you never fled, i would have helped. you never let me explain, why i chose what i did. my reasons won against any excuse you had. your enigmatic answers, reasons, questions, left me unable to communicate freely. which is why i had to sting.
I offer so much more than what you saw me as you never saw the altruistic side of me, because you never cared to see it.
