As the bowl spun wildly askew, they both screamed in abject terror. Cake batter violently and sporratically spewed all over the kitchen. They both quickly sought shelter under the table mere seconds before the whole mechanism came crashing to the floor. With a sudden gasp, she lunged backwards into his arms. The force of the cord’s tension yanked the plug out of its socket, causing the mixing stand to wheeze to a stop.

When the chaos settled, their eyes slowly met, followed by unbridled laughter. She sighed and rested her head on his chest. Like second nature, he slowly ran his fingers through her soft brown hair. What was once an impossible question in her mind was now undeniable truth; she knew he felt the same.
