she could(n’t) love me so
when she holds me close,
her perfume welcomes my nose,
she lets me borrow her bows,
she could love me so.
when she harms my brain,
say painful words, say i’m insane,
“i wish i could love you, but you’re so plain,”
she couldn’t love me so.
when she asked for some help,
with the sound of my yelp,
the fact i was allergic and couldn’t have kelp,
maybe she doesn’t love me so.
the beep of my heart,
she said “that’s a start,”
and as my heart stopped and broke like a tart,
i saw she didn’t love me so.
