WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a poem about the sea that does not use the words
Deep,
Blue,
Shimmering,
Cold.
Synonyms and creativity will help you find ways to convey the enormousness and beauty of the ocean without using these common descriptors.
A Story Without Context
The drop is steep,
The waters shine,
From those who weep,
The troubles mine,
The moon shines down,
On secrets lost,
A forgotten crown,
Now paid the cost,
The cool waves around,
The dark stillness over me,
They lap my feet with little sound,
On nights last hear my plea,
The moon shines bright,
The time has come,
Hear my plight,
Under shadows numb,
The sea calls,
The waters reach out,
With birds squalls,
I heard a shout,
Follow me to the boat,
Even with hope bleak,
Bring me it'll float,
I won't even speak,
Off we go to waters far,
To the dark expanse we flow,
Off to rid us of our scars,
Under moonlights sparkling glow.
