Tell the reader something important about a character by describing only their hands.

Covered in soap suds they scrubbed the pan until their marigolds tore at the tips. Removed from the water they pulled off the gloves and threw them to the side before reaching up onto the windowsill.
Their diamond sparkled against the sun as they adjusted their ring. The soft wrinkled hands were wiped against the apron before unfastening the tie and pulling it off, hanging it on a hook.
The index finger flicked on the kettle as they reached for a mug, and placed a tea bag inside. They waited impatiently reaching for another mug as the kettle boiled. Then before placing another tea bag in the other mug they hesitated and put the tea bag and mug back.
The fingers adjusted the ring, frozen for a moment until they resumed making the tea.
