Cleansing

The Cleansing
Burning Palo Santo and Sage
Adjourning, turning the page
Letting myself be cleansed
Letting go, making amends
Praying to be purified and cleared
Believing in this ritual feels - weird.
I don’t know if incense and the carefully chosen word
Can take away the pain I’ve felt and seen and heard
I’m not sure if all this rotten, toxic buildup in my life
Can be swept away or squeezed out when it’s so rife
I wish I could wipe it all away, wash it with soap
Can despair be cleansed by anything but hope?
I call out to my guides, guardians, masters, and teachers…
To my angels, ancestors, healers and preachers:
Here me and help me to be whole and complete
Remove from me all limitations, bindings or defeat
Fill me up with your love, light, power and grace
Cleanse me, bless me, renew me from foot to face!
So mote it be and so it is — I am set free!
Cleansed from the past, reborn for all to see!
So what I needed to release was my will, so tender
To trust what is seeded till it blooms as surrender.
