When I look in the mirror it never fails to amaze me

How it’s my reflection looking back at me and yet even I chose to look past me

A Few glares in & I’m lost in a daze

Until I take a step back and take a deep breathe

I let a sigh & try to relax & I readjust my eyes

Slowly looking around through the mirror

I feel my feet touching my pink bathroom rug

I wiggle my toes

Right in front of me sits our twos sinks left and right

my make up bag is spilled between the two on the countertop

I now start to feel safe & seen, by who is looking back at me

I smile at myself still amazed this is where I am

my face reminds me of who I was at times

Its too easy to get lost in the story my eyes tell & remind only to me

But I look around and remember that isn’t who I chose to be.
