STORY STARTER

“I’m starting to think that you might know more about me than you let on.”

He gave a broad smile that showed too many teeth.

“Have you not considered that I do indeed know everything about you?”

Unequal exchanges are common in horror and thriller stories – if one character knows more than another, there is much at stake. Include this exchange in a story.

Tourion

(Warning, I do not write horror or thriller stories, so this is going to be a Fantasy instead. I will also change one part of what it says in the prompt for my story. Please do not take any ideas because something similar to this will be in a book that I’m wanting to write)

“I’m starting to think that you might know more about me than you let on.”

He gave a surprisingly broad smile.

“Have you not considered that I do indeed know everything about you?”

“Yea right.” I said, not exactly sure how he could know. “What’s your name, anyways?”

“Tourion.” The man replied, his golden eyes swirling with light inside. “And you are Mya.”

“How do you know that?” I asked, skeptically.

“Because you’re a Yecareh.” He replied.

“A what?”

“A Yecareh. A manner of beings different than humans, but not that different. In fact, everyone at one point has to learn that they are a Yecareh. And your real name is actually Myandule.”

“Oh sure!” I said sarcastically, “after a traumatic event where I was bitten by a blue smoky wolf thing I wake up and immediately a man who I’ve never met tells me that I not only have a different name, but I’m a different species all together!”

“Mya,” Tourion said in an affectionate calming way, “this is hard for everyone at first. Your parents went through the same thing. But—”

“Don’t even think about it!” I interupted. “Don’t tell me anymore! I’m not a Yecareh, my parents aren’t either, and my name isn’t Myandule!” I stood up quickly, forgetting about my bitten arm, and as soon as I did, pain shot throughout my body. I collapsed, and everything went black.
