POEM STARTER
In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.
Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?
The Knotmaker
Torn between two
Seeking to be whole
They fill my cup with water
But guilt fills my cup with coal
The ties that bind us
Have knotted in my soul
Cut them loose
And I free the hold
One of them will certainly grab their string and go
Absent competition
Will they fight at all
Or will they both return
Having survived the fall
To return their heart to me
Because that’s where it belongs
Ignoring my exit, embracing the thrill
I hold on to them tightly
As the rollercoaster slowly
Tic, tic, tics, back up this hill
With a gaze to my left
and a smirk to my right
This wild ride loves me better
Than I ever might
