POEM STARTER

In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.

Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?

Spring Is Around The Corner 💐

(Not a poem more of a nonfiction story tbh)

Today is one of the very days Relesyn has been looking forward to. A client wanted to host a book signing at her fairly new book cafe, and she was filled with excitement.

** In a room full of people, she couldn’t decide whom to look at… **

**Her** hair was golden brown, her smile shined underneath the sun, and she looked like an angel, the prettiest girl I’d ever seen.

**He** was one of the kindest guys I’d ever met, I could feel him staring from across the room, his eyes perching through my soul. My thoughts interrupted by my childhood guy Best Friend, “Hey Rel,” He smiles and hugs me, and my face lights up.

“Hey stranger, oh my gosh, you’ve gotten taller!”

“You too,” he says playfully, messing up my hair, then gently fixing it. “Oh sorry, you need to look presentable, got it.”

“No worries. Oh my gosh! It’s been so long,” I say, out of his grasp but still holding his arms.

“I know, right? How are you?” he asks. This time, when he’s speaking, I notice how much he’s grown up. His frame is now lean, and he looks more mature. The last time we saw each other, he was 16, and I was 14. His brown shaggy hair is now more prominent, and his boy features look manly.

“I’m doing good! I finally opened up this cafe, we’re doing very well actually.”

“Really? I’m so happy for you, when did you start it?”

“Hm.. last year I think.. wow it has been that long.”

“I’m so sorry I missed the opening.”

“That’s okay,” I wave it off.

“Can I make it up to you by coming in tomorrow and looking around? Maybe supporting a small business by not bothering the owner and just getting food.”

I chuckle, “You can steal me, it will be fine, I have other workers you know.”

“_Oh, _good to know,” he says playfully.

“Yeah,” I smile proudly, taking in the sight of buisness in my cozy—true to me—cafe.

**Her** dirty blonde hair had turned dark brown, and her young features had developed into a woman. Her smile and personality remained the same, but the cute young Relesyn was now a gorgeous _woman_. I smile at the familiarity that longed to see her face.

**In** a room full of people I struggled to know where to look—Elias—my guy Best Friend? Or the guy—Cullen—who had quickly become my best friend after meeting? Conflicting emotions rolled around in my stomach, how could I fathom this, what would I do?

Society told me to make a choice, pick my husband, the one who’d raise my kids, but the question is, was it actually one of these men?

I prayed a quick prayer, **_God help me, I’m torn, I don’t know what to do._**_ _Following after, I heard his voice, **_My daughter, I’m with you, focus on me._**

I did just that. Fixing my eyes on God, I Put the situation in his hands.

Looking around and taking in the smiling faces and people lining up to get their book signed, I put some snacks on a plate.

“How are you?” Cullen said, walking up, and giving me a reassuring smile.

“I’m doing good, thank you,” I felt myself relax. He knew I didn’t do good with crowds.

He massaged my shoulders then smiled, “How is the book signing going?”

“Good, it seems, everyone is super happy.”

I looked away, proudly looking around.

“I’m so thankful God allowed me to open this place.”

“Me too, you’re using your gift to the best of your abilities. I’m so proud of you.”

I smiled, something just felt right talking with Cullen, peace settled through me, I had plenty of time to decide.

“Thank you, you think it’s going good?”

He smiled brightly, “Oh no, I know so.”

I give him a brief hug.

“You need any help?” He asks after we release.

“Hmm actually, can you put these books back?”

“Sure,” He smiles happy too.

“Thank you.”

He salutes as he walks away, I feel myself smiling.

“You have put done yourself!” A girl comes up, “I would love to host an event here myself.”

“Really?” I ask, curious.

“Yeah! I’m serious, this place is so peaceful, and the decorations feel so homey and neat. I would come here every day if I could.”

“Wow,” I say, shocked and at a loss for words.

“I’m being serious, can I plan something here?”

“That sounds great, we have a private room, can I show you to it?”

“That sounds great.”

So many things were starting to take place, new leaves were being turned, and spring was around the corner.
