The Three Of Us Pt.3

“Please tell me why you think you’re going to die,” Emerald asked me. “Well you would think you were going to die if your mom told you that you have a sister, and the dad you thought was dead, was actually a monster that cheated on your mom with a witch,” I replied defensively. On that fateful day my mom told me that Emerald was my sister that came from Sarandiel which was a magical land. Or half sister. A witch was her mother, which is why she looks so otherworldly. “Wait- why- how do you know I think I’m going to die?” I asked. She blushed. “That was my power,” she said. “Wait- like Marvel superpowers?” “Uhhh yeah… kind of” “I wish I had one,” I said. She looked stricken. “I should go…” then she dashed out of sight.


“Mom do I have a power?” My mom had a similar reaction to Emerald. “Honey… you- you do have a super power, she explained, “in fact that’s why I kept you away from Sarandiel.” A sudden hush took hold, suffocating me, wounding its way through my chest. “You have the power to navigate the Dark Woods.
